How to Consign
- Bring in your gown and/or accessories that are four (4) years old or newer, clean and in excellent condition. To pre-qualify your items, you can e-mail photos to us along with the designer name, size and original price.
- We will inspect the gown with you during the appointment and if we think we can sell it for you, a contract will be drawn up for the consignment. All items are on a contract of 6 months. It is the consignors responsibility to remember the contract end date and contact Second Elegance to make arrangements to pick up any unsold items. You will have 7 DAYS past your contract end date to pick up all unsold items. Items not picked up after 7 days will become the sole property of Second Elegance WITHOUT FURTHER NOTICE.
- Your gown will be displayed in the boutique for a period of six months with appropriate discounts taken at 30 days, 60 days and 90 days. If your gown sells, you will receive 50% of the selling price. Payment will be mailed within thirty (30) days of the sale.
- If your item(s) is purchased with a credit card, a fee of 2% will be deducted from the consignor split.
- If gowns have been boxed or preserved, please pre-qualify the gown before bringing it in for consignment. Please note that we do not accept gowns still in the preservation box.
- We will determine a sales price that is fair to both buyer and seller. Price is set by researching prices on the internet and by our knowledge of the market. Factors that affect the price include brand, style, age, condition, demand and past selling history. Gowns that have not been pre-worn will usually be marked 25%-35% off the retail price and pre-worn gowns will be priced 30%-50% off the retail price.
- All gowns MUST be cleaned prior to consignment. It is our experience that a new Bride does not want to purchase a soiled gown.
- We are NOT taking bridesmaid dresses for consignment at this time.
Consign your beautiful gown with us today and tomorrow help a new bride fulfill her dreams!
